Mid-19th c., Belgian, double-barrel percussion, 30" barrel, LOA 46", checkered walnut stock, iron furniture. with signed July 11, 2007 letter of provenance from Lonnie R. King stating, "Purchased by me in 2003 from the final owner of the Claude Moore Museum, Clinton, NC. Original tag, now gone due to age, indicated that this shotgun had been used by a Confederate at the battle of Bentonville, NC 1865." Bentonville hosted one of the last major engagements of the war, March 19-21, 1865.

Missing ramrod, light overall rusting, crack (with old repairs) runs width of stock and under trigger guard, chip to fore of stock.
