Original gouache, signed at lower right, matted and framed under glass with gallery plaque. SS 13.25 x 12.75 in.; DOA 21.5 x 20.25 in. Included is the painting's actual subject: a late 19th - early 20th century martial drum, rosewood, fitted with a custom glass top , the whole rests upon wooden legs which are turned to resemble oversize drum sticks (17.5 in. diameter x 25.5 in. high.) Mr. Timberlake made the following remark regarding this original work: "I have always been drawn to historical artifacts as subjects for my paintings...they have a mystery and fascination about them which make them so interesting to paint."
