Original gouache, signed at lower right, matted and framed under glass with gallery plaque. SS 13.25 x 12.75 in.; DOA 21.5 x 20.25 in. Included is the painting's actual subject: a late 19th - early 20th century martial drum, rosewood, fitted with a custom glass top , the whole rests upon wooden legs which are turned to resemble oversize drum sticks (17.5 in. diameter x 25.5 in. high.) (age appropriate wear).

Bob Timberlake, an internationally acclaimed realist painter, furniture maker, author, and philanthropist lives in Lexington, North Carolina. Primarily known for his watercolor paintings, his depiction of life in his Native North Carolina has endeared his work to an international audience.

Mr. Timberlake made the following remark regarding this original work: "I have always been drawn to historical artifacts as subjects for my paintings...they have a mystery and fascination about them which make them so interesting to paint."
