Circa 1900, cast brass unmarked three-train movement. Cuckoo call counts the hours with gong strike and sounds on the half hour. Quail call sounds every quarter hour with gong strike. Both birds are wooden with articulated wings and beak. Dial with nailed on Roman numerals and original carved bone hands. The elaborately carved walnut case is surmounted by a matching carved stag's head crest with original carved wooden antlers. Includes carved pendulum and 3 weights.
