.577 caliber, 39 in. barrel secured with three barrel bands, the left side near the breech has two LAC marks, a crown-over-2 proof and a crown-over-TP/V proof; the lockplate stamped "1860 / L.A.Co." with crown / V. R behind the hammer; brass trigger guard, nosecap, buttplate and lockplate escutcheons; checkered walnut stock (as seen on the Kerr rifle); retains ramrod and bayonet with remnants of a "JC" proof.
