Estate of Elizabeth Jocelyn Jewett Tolar of Wilmington , granddaughter of Mary Wright Giles and John D. Bellamy II, and direct descendent of Judge Joshua Wright, Samuel Jocelyn, Dr. John D. Bellamy, and William Giles, and several other Wilmington’s founding families.

Robert E. Tapp built his house in 1911 at 1920 Princess Street near downtown Wilmington. Born in England, Tapp was a bookkeeper for Clayton Giles & Son and his private papers are housed at UNCW Archives and Special Collections.

Mrs. Tolar bought and renovated the house, living there from 1982 until 1994.

The home is featured in several movies, including the beloved Blue Velvet and Sleeping with the Enemy.

Poor condition with staining and tears - not examined out of the frame.
