Born in Brooklyn, Fehrer studied at the National Academy of Design, the Royal Academy in Munich, and the Academie Julian in Paris.

He exhibited at the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, the National Academy of Design and the Corcoran Gallery. In 1903, Fehrer became a life member of the Salmagundi Club in New York City.

Canvas needs to be re-stretched; light surface grime; area of paint loss to woman's shoulder.
