Both of carved wood, the first, a Bambara lady seated upon a goat (32 in.) (old patina, several tight hairlines at head, flaw to knee as made); the second, a later piece with ebonized surface, depicting a nursing mother (31.5 in.) (knothole to back of head, several minor abrasions).
