The first an Ibo mask with dark painted surface and relief carved facial decoration (9 in.) (light surface wear); the second a Yoruba mask carved with open mouth (11 5/8 in.) (old accumulated surface; shrinkage crack to rear of hair); the third, possibly Kran or Dan, with black painted surface having kaolin at eye slits, open mouth with painted teeth of which three are missing, cloth cowl at forehead (10.5 in.) ( fading to paint); the fourth is a geometrically painted mask (12 in.) (missing upper lip).
