Each circa 1800; the first painting of a young laundress with dog, oil on canvas on board; the second painting of a young woman with dog and basket of fruit is an oil on canvas (lined); neither painting is signed, both presented in matching gilt composition frames.

From the Estate of Mrs. Camilla Hammond Smith Strange of Annandale Farm, Gordonsville, VA and Warrenton, VA Born in Washington, D.C., Mrs. Strange was a proud member of the Society of the Lees of Virginia. Like her mother and grandmother, she had a great knowledge and appreciation of antiques and enjoyed decorating with them throughout her home.

Both with stable craquelure and minor scattered re-touch visible under black light.
