Gilmour, a Charlotte native, maintains studios in New York and Charlotte. Her work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums throughout the United States, including the Gibbes Museum in Charleston, the Mint Museum in Charlotte, and the National Women's Museum in Washington, D.C.. A large painting, titled Love Letter to Levi-Strauss, similar to the one offered here is in the permanent collection of the NC Museum of Art.
