Oil on linen canvas, monogrammed at lower right, completed 17 November 1974, retaining the artist's label on the verso, presented in the original frame with linen liner.

SS 21.5 x 27.5 in.; DOA 28 x 34 in.

Acquired by the consignor's aunt, Patsy Dean Williamson Hoffman of Greensboro, directly from the artist in 1989. Mrs. Hoffman was a good friend of Bob Timberlake, who introduced her to Ward Nichols.

Accompanied by a photocopy of two letters from Ward Nichols identifying the scene and describing is as "depicting a 'low slung' barn, Tin Roof, Hay in storage, fall colors with grassy foreground, all wood gray weathered natural." He identifies that painting as number 364 and provides "warrant and guarantee" that the painting is original and created by his hand.

Very good estate condition.
