(London: Printed For George Whittaker, 1827-35), 16 volumes, octavo, full calf with gilt rules and spine, marbled endpapers and page edges, numerous black ink engravings of animals from life illustrate each book, the first volume also has four hand-colored engravings of exotic human subjects. Altogether, this expansive set covers mammals, birds, reptiles, fish, fossils, mollusks, invertebrates, arachnids, and insects.
