Born in Chicago, Weisman studied at Washington University, St. Louis, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Columbia College Chicago. Since 1986 he has taught sculpture at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

Weisman holds two casting sessions each year in Upstate New York and is involved in every aspect of the creation for his bronzes - from inception through drawing to patination. His work may be found in numerous public and private collections, including the Union League of Chicago, the City of Philadelphia, Ralph Lauren Corporation, New York, NY, Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach, FL, and the collection of Mr. Ken Burns, New York, NY.
