22.25 in. blade with prominent hamon, signature on tang; chrysanthemum menuke on both sides of the rayskin grip; additional chrysanthemum motifs on the tsuba and pommel; wooden scabbard with ink calligraphy inscription to one side describing the sword as a souvenir of "the Greater East Asia War"; the scabbard in protective leather wrap.

LOA 38.5 in.

Blade possibly shortened; rusting to the tang and minor spots of corrosion to the blade; 1 in. split to scabbard at throat; wear and patina to external surfaces as expected.
