Probably New York, circa 1820, mahogany and mahogany veneers, molded and scrolled stiles, concave upper splat with inlays, above a spiral twisted cross bar, upholstered slip seat, reeded front seat rail, molded sabre front legs.

Estate of the Late Richard Rivoire of Charles County, Maryland and Raleigh, North Carolina. A noted historical architect, J. Richard Rivoire was a native of Charles County, Maryland and the first to do extensive documentation of historic structures in that county. He moved to Raleigh in 2005 and was actively engaged in the research and documenting of historic structure in this region.

Later upholstery to slip seats; one chair with break at crest rail to stile; one chair with cut and patch at stile joint to crest; two chairs with inlay missing at crest rail.
