The first an acrylic on board, monogrammed at lower right, presented in a silver tone frame (DOA 21.5 x 26 in.) (scratch to left of table); the second an acrylic on board, monogrammed at lower right and signed on the verso, presented in a silver tone metal frame (DOA 18 x 24.25 in.).

From the Estate of the Artist

Originally from North Carolina, Mangum received his bachelor's and master's degrees from UNC - Chapel Hill. He furthered his studies at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C., the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Art Students League of New York. He returned to North Carolina in the 1960s, where he taught art at Salem College from 1962 to 1987.
