Bequeathed to consignor by her mother, who was secretary to the American ambassador to Egypt in the 1950s. The consignor writes, "My mother was the first woman ever introduced into the Egyptian government. She won this ring playing poker with King Farouk's wives. Since it is my birthstone, she passed it onto me."
Clarity of the aquamarine is eye-clean, light, slightly grayish, greenish blue color.
