Scent of the Pine, You Know How I Feel: North Carolina Art from the Jonathan P. Alcott Collection, Longwood Center for the Visual Arts, Farmville, Virginia, June 20 - October 18, 2014 (illustrated in the accompanying catalogue). This exhibition traveled to the North Carolina Museum of History, Raleigh, NC, September 10 - December 4, 2016.

Born in Switzerland, Heyden settled with her family in Durham, NC in 1966. During this time she devoted herself to the art of weaving, described her tapestries as:
"My tapestries are not paintings. They unfold on the loom within the possibilities and limitations of weaving. Once on the wall, my tapestries express their own identity in a woven composition."
