Attributed to James Otto Brown (1899-1980), earthenware having a warm brown slip glaze with allover black speckles, applied features, inset eyes with pierced eyeballs, elongated nose and ears, open mouth with two rows of china plate teeth, unsigned but marked on the bottom in faded ink "97".

Roughness at rim; scattered glaze flakes; some pitting; chipping at the nose tip and base; under black light small areas of the lower handle, ear ridges, and lower lip appear that they may have had fill and/or touch-up.
