Piedmont, North Carolina, circa 1800, poplar secondary, dove tailed case featuring a walnut top with bold applied molded cornice, two upper side by side lipped drawers when removed reveal an interior upper cavity, currently retaining one secret document drawer, above three long graduated lipped drawers with full dust boards, all flanked by singular relief molding, on applied molded base and raised on bold ogee bracket feet with spur.

Top with dark staining; replaced pulls; retaining holes and shadow mark from previous pull; top right drawer with small chip to lower left corner; lower right base molding with original crack and repair; lower left base molding with two inch chip and loss.
