She grew up in eastern NC, went to school in Raleigh and later owned a gallery in Pinehurst. She has lived in the Sandhills area for the last 30 years. Because of where she lived, she developed a close relationship with many members of the Seagrove pottery community and served twice as head of the local arts council. She had an avid interest in painting, particularly with acrylics. She also taught art at one time and has always enjoyed collecting. She has won recognition for both her work and her service in the arts community.
