From the Collection of Charlotte Rodman, Southern Pines, NC Charlotte is a NC native with a lifelong interest in art. She grew up in eastern NC, went to school in Raleigh and later owned a gallery in Pinehurst. She has lived in the Sandhills area for the last 30 years and gained recognition for both her work and her service in the arts community.

A founding member of the Arts Club of Washington, D.C., Leisenring taught at the Corcoran School of Art from 1902 until 1940. She studied at the Art Students League of D.C. and New York, and at the Academie Julian in Paris. She exhibited extensively throughout her lifetime, including at the Paris Salons, Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and the National Academy of Design.

Some paint loss above sitter's proper right shoulder; cracking to paint surface at upper right; yellowing varnish.
