Two manuscript documents in pencil on one oblong quarto sheet, Richmond, February 23, 1865, secretarially signed by Walter Taylor (for R. E. Lee) and John C. Breckenridge as Secretary of War. The Breckenridge document offers North Carolina's Bryan Grimes a Major-General's rank and divisional command, while the Taylor document gives reporting instructions. Presented in a wooden frame.

She grew up in eastern NC, went to school in Raleigh and later owned a gallery in Pinehurst.
