19th century, Catawba Valley, alkaline glazed stoneware, the first is a canning jar having a high collar, inner rim, angular shoulder, unglazed lid (8.75 x 5.25 in.); the second is a storage jar with a rounded rim, the body decorated with five hand inscribed sine wave bands alternating with five concentric bands, both unsigned.
