Maxine Linney studied at the Chicago Institute of Design before settling in North Carolina, first Raleigh and later the Blue Ridge Mountains. Her style is characterized by layering of mediums and decadent color, which invite careful looking from the viewer. Linney has been represented by several galleries, including Somerhill Gallery, Chapel Hill and Touchstone Gallery, Hendersonville.
