Virginia Derryberry retired as Professor of Art from UNC-Asheville in 2015. She has exhibited extensively throughout her career, most recently at the Jepson Center Gallery in Savannah's famed Telfair Museum. Her work may be found in numerous public collections including the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, PA; Asheville Art Museum, Asheville, NC; and the Morris Museum of Art, Augusta, GA. The painting in the Morris Museum collection, Consummation, is from the same year as the painting offered here.
