Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Made of dark brown cotton fabric and consisting of twelve compartments identified by manuscript letters. Verbal history suggests that this item carried Confederate mails during the Civil War. A very similar pouch, identified as Confederate, was on the market several years ago. This is a rare piece of Southern postal history whether war-date or not.

19 x 22.75 in.

Several small and isolated areas of insect damage do not detract from an overall fine presentation; intact and supple.
