The first a portrait of Catherine the Great after Alexander Roslin (Swedish, 1718-1793) (DOA 29 x 24 in.) (minor rubbing to perimeter of painting, some chipping and rubbing to frame); the second a portrait of Tsar Nicholas II after Ernst Friederich von Liphart (Russian, 1847-1934) (DOA 27 x 22.25 in.) (several cracks to painting, some rubbing and chipping to frame); both presented in antique gilt composition frames.

These copies were commissioned by the consignor from Sasha Iksar, a graduate of St.Petersburg Academy of Arts and student at Moscow Academy of Arts.
