Mid-20th century, the 29.5 in. steel blade engraved with chrysanthemum motifs; the scabbard of lacquered wood is painted with waterfowl in a landscape; a brass collar circles a wooden or bakelite tsuba; the grip above is of lacquered wood with a thin gilt metal pommel.

Moderate rusting to the blade; scuffs and one .5 in. area of loss to the lacquer; the wooden grip is firmly affixed preventing removal from the tang.
