Paris, France, mid-19th century, in the Louis XIV style, stamped "Befort Jeune" twice on the interior upper horizontal board, ebonized case with later shaped marble top, upper and lower section dovetailed, oak secondary, cut brass ormolu mounts throughout and highlighted with bronze oval putti door panel, and brass rosettes, floral and egg and dart and gadrooned motifs, shaped base with stylized cut footwork.
