From the estate of the late Harry Manning Precht, Cutchogue, New York

Born in Manchester, England, Judson immigrated with his family to New York in 1854. For the next several years he moved between the United States and Canada, serving with the 21st Illinois Volunteers during the Civil War. By 1895, Judson had settled in Pasadena, California where he was an art professor and established a prominent stained glass studio.

He exhibited frequently throughout his lifetime, showing works at the Royal Canadian Academy, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Panama California Exposition.
