Likely 18th century, mortise & tenon construction rectangular form, slot to hinged cover for insertion of alms and coinage, with original iron locking mechanism (no key and not working), molded edge to cover and applied molding to base of box, raised on four ball feet, included with the box are two antique escutcheons.
