Scott Eagle serves as the Assistant Director of the School of Art and Design, Director of Graduate Studies, and Associate Professor of Painting and Drawing at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. His paintings and illustrations have been exhibited and reproduced internationally. Publications featuring his work include The Oxford American, The New York Times, Wired Magazine, and numerous books.

This painting is from a series by Eagle featuring the Madonna holding a fish. The composition is based on the Madonna Litta, traditionally attributed to Leonardo da Vinci, and in the collection of the Hermitage Museum. However, the idyllic mountainous landscapes have been replaced with an ominous roadscape and a swirling tornado.

Very good estate condition.
