Wythe County, circa 1825-30, six-board dovetailed poplar case, lid with wrought iron strap hinges and applied molded edge, interior with crab lock inscribed "JD", till to the left side featuring slide panel revealing two drawers, field with black on brown paint decoration, lid featuring two panels with central star, the front with two panels featuring urns and tulips, the left tulip dated 1829 and signed, dovetailed shaped bracket foot base with spurs, back rear board marked "1829 / 1829" in black ink. Decoration attributed to John Huddle (1772-1839).
