(London, 1855), approximately 100 views from around the world, oblong octavo (7.25 x 11 in.), red cloth boards with gilt, all page edges with gilt; 1854 Christmas gift inscription to Melanie D. Dummer from her sister Eliza on front fly leaf (Internal foxing; splits to lower hinges, though binding remains intact; soiling to boards; overall good condition.); Caldwell, John H. The Thurstons of the Old Palmetto State: or, Varieties of Southern Life (New York: Joseph Russell, 1861), small octavo (7.5 in.), brown cloth boards. The author, a man of the cloth, wrote novels aimed at saving the reader. (soling and heavy wear to the boards; sine loose; page intact).
