North Carolina Folky Cherry Serpentine Chest of Drawers

Piedmont to Foothills region, second quarter of the 19th century, yellow pine secondary, case with an old red wash, top serpentine form with three side-by-side drawers, over three graduated drawers, through mortise and tenon joints on the upper and lower side panels, applied stiles with open scrolls, paneled sides with repeating scrolled front and rear feet.

All drawers with rear double tip at bottom board, used as a drawer stop. Serpentine small drawers carved from the solid.

Top with marring and stains; heavy indents to middle drawer at left side; no key; skirt likely lacking applied molding; one pull detached but present.
