From the Collection of the late Joseph Michael McAndrew Chapel Hill, North Carolina

This GTO was special ordered by a then young member of the United States Air Force, nearing the end of his active service here and overseas. He was finally stationed in Omaha, Nebraska in 1970, at the Air Command headquarters. He took delivery of the car from Stan Olsen Pontiac in Omaha on February 2, 1971. He later attended the University of Alabama Law School and received a law degree in 1974. He practiced law in the state of Alabama.
Joe McAndrew was looking to replace a GTO he owned when he was a young man. This car appeared in 2017 at the Mecum car auction in Kissimmee Florida, much to the delight of Joe. Although there were 43 GTO's that were being offered at the sale, it was the only 1971. It had all of the right boxes checked in the performance department, was mostly original, and not in need of a restoration. Joe was able to enjoy the special car for a few months before his untimely passing. We are offering this car on behalf of the family.
