Mecklenburg County, NC, worked in multi color silk on linen ground, the top half field with seven alphanumeric rows and bottom half featuring stylized trees and birds, centered with basket and register with maker's name "Elizabeth Richard / son Oct. 11, 1836." Accompanied with copies of a family record entitled "Winget Family" which notes "My father gave me a piece of Fancy Wor - (A Sampler) his Father gave him - and told My Fathers Mother made it. This sampler carries the Name Elizabeth Richardson an(d) is dated October 11th. 1836. This could well be the date of her birth, as used above. (Arthur Winget)." This was likely written by the same Arthur Knox Winget listed in the paperwork as being born October 26, 1882 in Mecklenburg County, NC.
