English Jacobean Carved Coffer

Late 17th or early 18th century, oak and mixed woods, pine top with applied molded edge and having snipe hinges, open interior, the front with triple relief carved panel, relief carved stiles and surround, relief carved sides, applied molded and carved base molding, straight legs from the stile with applied brackets.

24 x 42.5 x 19 in.

Lid is pine and likely a 19th century replacement; some loss to one bottom board, some insect damage to side panels.
