North Carolina Federal Walnut Sugar Table
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
Piedmont region, circa 1820, yellow pine secondary, two-board rectangular top, large deep drawer with scratch bead, flush sides, square straight legs with scratch bead corner.

31.5 x 39 x 34 in.

From the Collection of Mary Wells, Greensboro, North Carolina

The large deep drawer is early and likely shows that it was original to the table, however there is evidence that the case was designed to hold two drawers as a mortise and tenon joint is visible on the left and right front legs; shrinkage cracks to top boards, warp to front left corner; replaced brasses.
