Southside Virginia or Northeastern North Carolina, third quarter of the 18th century, one-board molded top with good overhang and notched corners, shaped and scalloped skirt with center relief carved shell from the solid, the upper leg with molded corner, above a turned and tapered lower leg terminating in distinctive ball and claw feet.

Three-inch repair to one side edge of original top; dark stain to top; top reset; missing one drop carved shell; knee returns are original, but several with hairline cracks and later interior brace support, the side with missing drop carved shell with break and repair to one original leg and break and repair at skirt near other leg.
