Late 18th century, mahogany veneers, pine and oak secondary, rectangular top with banded vertical veneered rear edge border and bowed front, top edge with banded vertical veneer, above four conforming graduated cockbeaded dovetailed drawers with full dustboards, rear boards with quality triple raised panel construction, applied conforming molding to base, raised on four French bracket feet.

Unusual to find a matched pair of Hepplewhite chests in fine estate condition with original feet.

The first chest: top with light wear and minimal dark staining; left side of top with later brace bar to upper left side corner; front right top corner with veneer chip and loss; front left foot facing with crack and repair to upper right corner of original foot; bottom of all four drawers with later but vintage green paper liner. The second chest: with light wear to top. Both with replaced brass pulls; overall very good estate condition.
