Tamara received a BFA from the University of Kentucky and a MFA from Indiana University. She began her career as an art teacher at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art in Hartford, CT, where she met her husband, Edward Bryant. She later taught studio arts at the University of Kentucky and Colgate University.
