The first titled on the mat South Royal Street (Alexandria, Virginia), signed at lower right and on the mat, inscribed on the verso, matted but unframed (Sheet 14 x 20 in.) (mat in poor condition and with tears); the second inscribed and titled A Sunny Day in a Danish Square on the verso, signed at lower right, matted and framed under glass (DOA 13.5 x 16 in.) (good estate condition - not examined out of the frame).

Robert Clifford Magis was a noted artist and illustrator for National Geographic magazine specialized in illustrations of both the ancient world and the space age.
He was born in Pittsburgh and graduated from the Philadelphia Museum College of Art.
