Attributed to Newport, circa 1780, over upholstered and shaped back, serpentine front over upholstered seat rail, stop fluted and molded front legs with inside chamfer, flush joint stretcher base, downswept rear legs.

Later upholstery was done by Richard Waters, a retired Colonial Williamsburg restoration specialist, who works in conjunction with Guenther Wood Group.

Later upholstery; wear at edge of front feet; small chip and loss to rear of right front foot; overall good estate condition.
