Circa 1800, mahogany, mahogany veneer; white pine, poplar and mixed secondary woods, two part form, applied dovetailed cornice with swan neck pediment terminating in rosettes flanking an inverted triangular plinth with acorn finial, astragal molded mullioned doors enclose a louvered shelved interior above three side by side small interior drawers; the base featuring a fall-front butler's secretary drawer, the drawer front with book-matched mahogany veneer and banded veneer border, interior with central prospect drawer opening to reveal two hidden drawers flanked by two document drawers flanked by three small drawers above four valanced pigeon holes to each side, above three graduated long drawers with cock beading, scalloped skirt, French bracket feet.

Purchased in Charleston, SC during the 1930s.

Several small drawers rebuilt; right upper case side with several patches; some replaced window lights; later inlaid keyhole escutcheons; some replaced back boards to the upper bookcase.
