Oil on canvas, unsigned, inscribed with the artist's name to top and bottom stretchers, presented in a period gilt frame.

DOA 16.5 x 20 in.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, Ms. Price moved as a young girl with her parents to Wilmington, North Carolina. Price studied art at Trinity College (now Duke University) in Durham, NC; Corcoran School of the Arts in Washington, D.C.; and with Charles Hawthorne and Robert Brackman in Provincetown, Massachusetts.

She returned to Wilmington in the 1930s and was very active in the arts community. She exhibited works of art at the Columbia Museum of Art in South Carolina, the Piedmont Festival in Winston-Salem, the Southern States Art League, the Blowing Rock Annual, the Greenville Show of North Carolina Portrait Painters, Duke University, and the Mint Museum.

Light surface grime; several small areas of paint loss; craquelure.
