Born in Brooklyn, Clinedinst studied at Cornell University and the Brooklyn Institute of Arts & Sciences. She also studied under such prominent artists as John Fabian Carlson, Anthony Thieme, and Emile Gruppe. She is primarily known for her Cape Ann scenes of Rockport and Gloucester.
