Circa 1890s, the etched and polished 31.5 in. blade is marked U.S. ARMORY Springfield Mass on the ricasso; heavy gilt remains intact on the cast grip that hosts martial, patriotic and decorative elements; the leather grip is bound with brass wire; the polished steel scabbard with gilt suspension rings and drag, the latter stamped inspector's initals S.W.P.

Choice very fine condition with some finish wear to the leather grip and light oxidation spotting to the scabbard.
