Endicott, n.d.), depicting George Washington in uniform, the lower margin naming future Confederate brigadier Philip St. George Cocke as contributing $5 towards "the Erection of the National Washington Monument," presented behind modern mat in a period giltwood frame (DOA 32x 26.5 in.) (some stains; a 10 in. split to paper from frame's lower edge; minor losses and wear to frame); the second, titled "Design of the National Washington Monument, by Robt. Mills of S.C. Arch; to be erected in the City of Washington (New York: G & W Endicott, n.d.), this rendering of the proposed monument shows the Capitol building and Smithsonian Castle to the viewer's right while a canal flows by the monument's left; the margin names "Mrs. C. B. Cocke as a $5 contributor and carries facsimile signatures of dignitaries James Knox Polk, George M. Dallas, John Quincy Adams, Henry Clay, Albert Gallatin and Daniel Webster.
